Introduction
The aspiration to discover an elixir capable of transforming inexpensive metals
into gold is as old as history itself. While this dream was never realized, it
evolved into new forms with the advent of industrialization.
Today, the petrochemical industry, and Marun Petrochemical Complex
in particular, stands at the center of efforts to fulfill one of humanity’s
oldest ambitions.
Marun Petrochemical Co.
The company was established in 1998 to implement NPC’s Olefin Number 7
Project. With a production capacity of 1.1 million tons of ethylene per year,
it is among the world’s largest producers of olefins. It is also Iran’s first
petrochemical plant to recover C2+ from natural gas and convert it into various
olefins, polymers, and chemicals.
